Time Sensitive is a project about our society and its awareness of its surroundings. The goal is to
elevate a discussion about history, archaeology and the value we inject into natural objects and
artefacts. The project is using a speculative vision to raise questions and offer a creative solution.
It is thought-provoking rather than a practical device. The approach chosen is a personal
perspective upon time and its repercussion - to set free the individual from written and unwritten
codes and encourage an explorative manner towards our value-worthy environment. In my
opinion, this kind of shift in society will generate a more sustainable and appreciative culture that
promotes that new is not always better. To emphasise my point of view, I have chosen to
challenge the base assumption of valuing time and compare the work of Stanley Kubrick,
consisting of a futuristic discussion, with my project, overlooking the past and our communication
with it. I believe the criticism of taking for granted our surroundings and not acknowledging it is a
sign of our times as noted from the attached articles. The reported events are an example of
recent times, but it will not be a surprise if more will continue to arise and fascinate people
globally. The project drifts from dealing with authenticity and fiction discourse to ecological and
sustainability principles. Along researching and designing the project, I was looking to trigger its
audience to think about truth, materiality and the future. This led to the decision of interacting with
one's sense of taste, which is individual and is capable of sensing an infinite amount of variations,
similar to the abundant layers underground.
